TDTU’s Day in Ostrava, Czech Republic

As the academic year 2020-2021 ended on 30 July 2021, the European Cooperation Center and Bata Centre held a celebration party, TDTU’s Day in Ostrava, Czech Republic. This was the third year that university students and Ph.D. students held this event.

This year, due to the pandemic, several students had to come back to Vietnam, so there were just a few remaining Vietnamese students studying and living in the Czech Republic, that could attend the celebration party.

SPECIALIZED SUBJECTS COURSE FOR STUDENTS OF THE DOCTORAL SANDWICH PROGRAM

On the 10th of April 2021, the European Cooperation Center (ECC) held a special support course for the students of the doctoral sandwich program – a cooperation program between Ton Duc Thang University (https://www.tdtu.edu.vn/), Technical University of Ostrava (https://www.vsb.cz/en) and Brno University of Technology (https://www.vutbr.cz/en/).

The course is included 6 subjects:

STATE DOCTORAL EXAM VIA ONLINE FORM OF THE SANDWICH DOCTORAL PROGRAM IN COVID-19

Due to the Covid-19, many doctoral students could not travel to the Czech Republic to take their State Doctoral Exams in partner universities. Hence, the European Cooperation Center (ECC), Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) and Faculty of Management and Economics (FaME), Tomas Bata University (TBU), Czech Republic agreed to allow students to take their State Doctoral Exams via an online form at Inspire Library – Ton Duc Thang University under supervision of the ECC.

DIRECTOR OF THE EUROPEAN COOPERATION CENTER, TON DUC THANG UNIVERSITY VISITED AND WORKED WITH RECTOR OF VSB TU OSTRAVA, CZECH REPUBLIC

On 28.1.2021, Dr. Phan Dao – Director of the European Cooperation Center (ECC) visited and worked with Prof. V. Snasel – Rector of VSB TU University of Ostrava, who has also been a supervisor of many doctoral students of the doctoral sandwich program since 2013.

THE SANDWICH DOCTORAL PROGRAM BETWEEN TON DUC THANG UNIVERSITY AND VSB TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF OSTRAVA

After the Lunar New Year holiday, students of the doctoral sandwich program - cooperation between Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) and VSB TU Ostrava (VSB TUO), in Computer Sciences, Informatics,… have already had plenty of positive achievements for a new academic year.

EUROPEAN COOPERATION CENTER, TON DUC THANG UNIVERSITY VISITED AND WORKED WITH LEADERS OF UNIVERSITY OF OSTRAVA, CZECH REPUBLIC

On 14.1.2021, Dr. Phan Dao – Director of ECC and Dr. Renata Tomášková – Vice-Rector for International Relations had a first working session at the University of Ostrava to exchange and asset the result of cooperation between ECC and OSU.

SUPERCOMPUTERS SUPPORT SCIENCE, INDUSTRY AND SOCIETY

IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center at VSB – Technical University of Ostrava (https://www.it4i.cz/en/about/about-it4i) is a leading research, development, and innovation centre active in the field of high-performance computing (HPC) and data analysis (HPDA). IT4Innovations operates the most powerful supercomputing systems in the Czech Republic, which are provided to Czech and foreign research teams from both academia and industry.

Director of the European Cooperation Center, Bata Center visited and worked with the Council of Industrial Association and Czech Republic Interface

On 10th of March, Mr. Phan Dao– Director of ECC and Bata Center visited and worked with Mr. F. Chaloupecky - Director-General of DOSTAV Company leading the Czech enterprise in solar power generation, who is also the Vice President of the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic (https://www.spcr.cz/en).

EXAMINATION IN COVID-19

At the end of February, Professor of the Faculty of Management and Economics (FAME) - Tomas Bata University in Zlin had to cancel the flight at the last minute. The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of the VSB - Technical University of Ostrava and a group of professors of the University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague also could not implement their working schedule in March and April due to the COVID-19 deriving from Wuhan. Hence, the European Cooperation Center (ECC) and Bata Center contacted and promoted the teaching, guidance, and preparing for the online exams.
