SPECIALIZED SUBJECTS COURSE FOR STUDENTS OF THE DOCTORAL SANDWICH PROGRAM
On the 10th of April 2021, the European Cooperation Center (ECC) held a special support course for the students of the doctoral sandwich program – a cooperation program between Ton Duc Thang University (https://www.tdtu.edu.vn/), Technical University of Ostrava (https://www.vsb.cz/en) and Brno University of Technology (https://www.vutbr.cz/en/).
The course is included 6 subjects:
- Applied Linear Algebra
- Numerical Methods
- Methods of Optimization
- Mathematical Methods and Tools for Reliability and Risk Analysis
- Basic Methods of Statistical Data Analysis in Practice
- Probability and mathematical statistics
The course is consisted of 60 lessons and prolonged to nearly 2 months in TDTU. The main purposes of this course were to support and enhance knowledge about specialized subjects; also writing and presentation skills for the doctoral students.
Lecturers of this course were Dr. Chu Duc Khanh – Dean of Faculty of Mathematics & Statistics, TDTU; Prof. Nguyen Thoi Trung, Director of Institute for Computational Science (INCOS) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Van Tai, Vice Dean of Faculty of Natural Sciences, Can Tho University.
Every doctoral student was excited to share their research ideas to receive helpful advice and solutions from the lecturers.
ECC also received many positive feedbacks from the doctoral students. With a fluctuating year due to the COVID-19, ECC always tries to be with the doctoral sandwich program’s students and supports them as much as possible to help them complete their study plans and research projects. Their successes are a treasure that they offer to ECC.
